Acompsia schmidtiellus

  B&F: 0861

ABH: 35.027

Status:  Unknown

Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Gardens, calcareous grassland

Wingspan:  16-17mm

Flight Period:  July - August

Observations:  The very distinctive larvae feed within a leaf-roll on Wild Marjoram (Origanum vulgare). The species is noted sporadically across the southern counties of the UK. The adult moths are not known to come to light very often, so searching for the larvae (late May to mid June) is probably the best way to obtain further records.
