  Status: Resident. 

Distribution and Abundance: Very common.

Primary Habitat: Grassland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August.

Observations: A combination of two species, Common Rustic (M. secalis) and Lesser Common Rustic (M. didyma) which can only be reliably separated by genitalia dissection. Accordingly all moths where genitalia determinations have not been undertaken should be recorded as Common Rustic agg. See Common Rustic for further details.
