Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Single brooded from July into September.

Observations: An example of differing flight periods and catch numbers for light traps run nightly in 1999 in woodland and wetland is provided by the Fineshade Rothamsted light trap and the two static m.v. light traps at Pitsford Reservoir: -

With a peak of ninety one examples of the moth in 1996, Fineshade generally seems to have been an above average site for this species in the 1990’s.
