Primary Habitat:  Woodland

Wingspan:  14-17mm

Flight Period:  May - June

Observations:  The larva feeds on the dead leaves of several low-growing plants such as Ground Ivy, Bugle, Nettle and Garlic Mustard. Adult flies early in the morning, and then again in the afternoon until dusk.

Confusion Species: Nematopogon metaxella

L.O.N.:  In almost all woods, the commonest of the genus. May & June
