B&F: 0185

ABH: 11.008

Status:  Resident

Distribution/Abundance:  Common

Primary Habitat:  Woodland, gardens

Wingspan:  *Larval case approx 6mm when full grown

Flight Period:  June

Observations:  The case-bearing larvae can often be found living communally on tree trunks, fence posts, etc. I have found them on an old lichen-covered metal cage. The females are wingless and known to reproduce via parthenogenesis, and males are therefore rarely encountered.
