Status:  Resident

Distribution/Abundance:  Common

Primary Habitat:  Indoors, gardens

Wingspan:  9-16mm

Flight Period:  June - October

Observations:  The case-bearing larvae feed on naturally-occurring fibrous material such as wool and fur. I have many records of adults from inside my house, with numerous larval cases found amongst the various beds used by the cats!

Confusion Species: T. dubiella - dissection required
