Distribution/Abundance:  Common

Primary Habitat:  Woodland, Hedgerows

Wingspan:  3-4mm

Flight Period:  May - July

Observations: Most frequently encountered as adults by day on flowers of Buttercup, sometimes in profusion - with the flower head crawling with individuals. Larvae feed on the seeds of Cock's Foot Grass.

Confusion Species:  Other Glyphipterix species

L.O.N.:  Geddington Chase, common on bright, sunny days in June
