Observations: Very
common in the county. Adults have two forms, one being typical cris-cross
of white and bronze, another being more suffused with the bronze colouration
(form literella). Larvae overwinter in shoots or male catkins
of Birch and Alder, feeding in spring causing the catkin to distort.
