Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Woodland, Gardens

Wingspan:  14-18mm

Flight Period:  June - September

Observations: Larvae feed on the buds of Ash. Recent DNA bar-coding confirms this as a separate species from Prays fraxinella, and thus older records of the dark from of P. fraxinella (f. rustica) could be of this species.

Confusion Species:  Closely resembles dark form P. fraxinella
