Distribution/Abundance:  Rare - no modern records

Primary Habitat:  Woodland, Hedgerows

Wingspan:  7-10mm

Flight Period:  June

Observations:  Case-bearing larvae feed on Hazel and Birch, making a disntinctive pattern of numerous small holes in the leaf. Only a single record exists for this Nationally Scarce species.

Confusion Species:  Most members of the Coleophoridae family are notoriously difficult to positively identify as adults unless the recorder is particularly skilled. Best identified either from the larval case/foodplant, or by examination of adult genitalia.
