B&F: 0560

ABH: 37.106

Status:  Resident

Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Grassland, Wasteground, Roadside verges, Woodland rides

Wingspan:  10-13mm

Flight Period:  July - August

Observations:  Case-bearing larvae feed on Thistle (Cirsium) and Knapweed. They are probably best looked for in the larval stage, during late April and early May, as the feeding damage is extremely obvious at that time of year (see image).
