Distribution/Abundance:  Rare - no modern records

Primary Habitat:  Damp Grassland

Wingspan:  12mm

Flight Period:  May - June

Observations:  Larvae mine the blades of Purple Moor-grass. Last recorded in 1995. The foodplant is quite rare in VC32, but further modern records may be obtained by targeted fieldwork in suitable habitat.

Confusion Species:  Other members of the Elachistidae family can be very similar as adults and care is required to correctly identify, especially in worn specimens.
