Status:  Resident

Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Ditches, River banks

Wingspan:  16-21mm

Flight Period:  August - September, and again in Spring after hibernation

Observations: Larvae feed on Water-cress and Dropwort, mining the stems. This species is fairly common in adjacent counties so further records may be obtained from searching or trapping in suitable habitat

Confusion Species:  D. daucella. Some members of the Depressariinae are difficult to positively identify as adults unless the recorder is particularly skilled. Best identified either from the larval case/foodplant, or by examination of adult genitalia
