Status:  Resident

Distribution/Abundance:  Common

Primary Habitat:  Wasteground, Dry grassland

Wingspan:  23-28mm

Flight Period:  September, and again in Spring after hibernation

Observations: Larvae feed on flowers and seeds, and later the stems of Wild Parsnip and Hogweed.

Confusion Species:  Some members of the Depressariinae are difficult to positively identify as adults unless the recorder is particularly skilled. Best identified either from the larval case/foodplant, or by examination of adult genitalia
