Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Wasteground, Grassland, Quarries, Roadsides

Wingspan:  20mm

Flight Period:  July - October

Observations: Larvae feed on leaves and then roots of Cat's-ear, Sow-thistle and Dandelion. Very few records in VC32, the species is said to prefer sandy, well-drained soils. Adults readily come to light.

Confusion Species:  Some members of the Depressariinae are difficult to positively identify as adults unless the recorder is particularly skilled. Best identified either from the larval case/foodplant, or by examination of adult genitalia.
