Status:  Resident

Distribution/Abundance:  Local

Primary Habitat:  Wasteground, Roadside verges, Grassland

Wingspan:  16-19mm

Flight Period:  July to November, and up to May after hibernation.

Observations: Larvae initially mine the leaves of Spear Thistle, later externally in a web.

Confusion Species:  A. subpropinquella. Some members of the Depressariinae are difficult to positively identify as adults unless the recorder is particularly skilled. Best identified either from the larval case/foodplant, or by examination of adult genitalia.
