Status:  Resident

Distribution/Abundance:  Scarce

Primary Habitat:  Wasteground, Roadside verges, Grassland

Wingspan:  19-23mm

Flight Period:  July - September.

Observations: Larvae feed on Knapweed. Adults rarely visit light, so this species may be under-recorded as a result. May be found by netting at or just after dusk.

Confusion Species:  A. pallorella, A. bipunctosa. Some members of the Depressariinae are difficult to positively identify as adults unless the recorder is particularly skilled. Best identified either from the larval case/foodplant, or by examination of adult genitalia.

L.O.N.:  Near Geddington Chase, common, 28 July - 06 August.
