Distribution/Abundance:  Rare - no modern records

Primary Habitat:  Heathy grassland, Golf courses

Wingspan:  15-21mm

Flight Period:  August, then to May after hibernation

Observations: Larvae feed on Broom.

Confusion Species:  A. atomella, A. heracliana, A. subpropinquella. Some members of the Depressariinae are difficult to positively identify as adults unless the recorder is particularly skilled. Best identified either from the larval case/foodplant, or by examination of adult genitalia.
