Observations: The species is well distributed throughout the British Isles, and can be locally common among gorse . The larvae feed within a substantial silk tube on Gorse (Ulex) and Greenweed (Genista). Rare
in VC32 given the relative infrequency of the foodplants.
Confusion Species:
Some members of the Depressariinae are difficult to positively
identify as adults unless the recorder is particularly skilled. Best
identified either from the larval case/foodplant, or by examination
of adult genitalia.
