Status:  Resident

Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Heathy grassland, Golf courses, Woodland

Wingspan:  16-22mm

Flight Period:  August, then to May after hibernation

Observations: Larvae feed on Broom, Gorse, Dyer's Greenweed, Petty Whin. One of the more common members of the family elsewhere in the UK, maybe more local in VC32 given the relative infrequency of the foodplants

Confusion Species:  Some members of the Depressariinae are difficult to positively identify as adults unless the recorder is particularly skilled. Best identified either from the larval case/foodplant, or by examination of adult genitalia.
