Distribution/Abundance:  Common

Primary Habitat:  Woodland rides

Wingspan:  16-22mm

Flight Period:  July - August

Observations: Larvae feed on St Johns-wort, forming a very obvious spinning in the new shoots.

Confusion Species:  Some members of the Depressariinae are difficult to positively identify as adults unless the recorder is particularly skilled. Best identified either from the larval case/foodplant, or by examination of adult genitalia.
