Primary Habitat:  Wasteground, Disused railways lines, Field margins

Wingspan:  16-20mm

Flight Period:  June - July

Observations: Larvae feed on the seeds of Greater Burdock. Larvae can be found over the winter months by peeling open seed heads of the foodplant.

Confusion Species:  M. aestivella, M. metzneriella
