Distribution/Abundance:  Rare (but increasing)

Primary Habitat:  General

Wingspan:  11-12mm

Flight Period:  May - August

Observations:  This species appears to be on the increase locally. Larvae feed on various mosses. Associated with older properties, particularly those with a thatched roof. Adults attend light traps, but can be very lively! Please retain examples for further examination.

Confusion Species:  Other Bryotropha species, esp. B. affinis (superficially, e.g. if worn) and B. dryadella - dissection required for acceptance into NMRS.
