Distribution/Abundance:  Rare - few modern records

Primary Habitat:  Wasteground, Roadside verges, Gardens

Wingspan:  16-18mm

Flight Period:  August, and again in spring after hibernation

Observations:  Larvae feed on seeds and flowers of Mallow. This Nationally Scarce B species is reportedly in decline across the UK and has not been recorded in VC32 since 1945

Confusion Species:  Hollyhock Seed Moth Pexicopia malvella
