Distribution/Abundance:  Rare - no modern records

Primary Habitat:  Wasteground, Roadside verges, Gardens

Wingspan:  17-20mm

Flight Period:  June - August

Observations:  Larvae feed on seeds of Marsh Mallow and Hollyhock. This Nationally Scarce B species is reportedly in decline across the UK and has not been recorded in VC32 since 1940

Confusion Species:  Platyedra subcinerea
