Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Woodland, Wasteground, Roadside verges

Wingspan:  10mm

Flight Period:  July - October, and again in spring after hibernation

Observations:  Larvae feed within the stems of Great Willowherb. Adults will often require examination of genitalia to be sure of identification

Confusion Species:  M. divisella, M. jurasicella
