Status:  Resident

Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Chalk & Limestone grassland

Wingspan:  10-12mm

Flight Period:  April - June

Observations:  Larvae feed on Hairy Violet and Dog Violet. The adults can be seen on sunny days flying at low level near the larval foodplants. I have seen them in numbers on suitable sites.

Confusion Species:  P. schwarzella
