Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Parkland & hedgerows with mature Oaks

Wingspan:  8-10mm

Flight Period:  Late June - September

Observations:  Larvae mine under the bark of mature Oak trees, exuding reddish frass (although this is not diagnostic as it is similar to the feeding signs of Argyresthia glaucinella). The adults may be found at rest on the bark of Oak trees, and occasionally come to light.
