Distribution/Abundance:  Scarce

Primary Habitat:  Grassland, Wasteground

Wingspan:  13-17mm

Flight Period:  May - July

Observations:  Larvae feed within the rootstock of Ragwort. The adult only appears to be active in sunshine and can be seen in flight around the larval foodplant. Despite the abundance of Ragwort, the moth is apparently quite scarce in the UK. Further records might be obtained by daytime searching during the flight period.
