Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Woodland

Wingspan:  18-25mm

Flight Period:  June - July, August - September

Observations:  Larvae feed on a number of shrubs and trees. The moth is recorded from all English Vice Counties (except N. Somerset) but only recorded in VC32 in 2016. Males have a white/pale head and palps.

Confusion Species:  P. corylana, P. cerasana, P. heparana.
