Status:  Probable vagrant

Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Out of VC32: Upland bogs, limestone outcrops

Wingspan:  13-16mm

Flight Period:  June - August

Observations:  A single moth was reported to a light trap at Farthinghoe NR on 7th August 2025, but unfortunately was neither captured nor photographed - escaping whilst the recorder was attempting to photograph it (although a detailed sketch was made at the time). The description of the moth reveals it to have been a female, as this species is quite strongly sexually dimorphic. The species may be found in many counties from the East Midlands and further North, Wales and a few areas in the South-west. Larvae feed on Bilberry, Cinquefoils, Rock-roses and Thrift (occasionally Sitka Spruce noted).
