Distribution/Abundance:  Common

Primary Habitat:  Gardens, Grassland

Wingspan:  18-22mm

Flight Period:  June - August

Observations:  Larvae feed on a range of low-growing herbaceous plants such as Hawkweeds, Dandelion, Knapweed, Goosefoot. Adults are among the largest of the Cnephasia, but identification based on size and wing markings alone is unreliable, thus genitalia examination is required for certainty.

Confusion Species:  Other Cnephasia species
