Distribution/Abundance:  Common

Primary Habitat:  Woodland

Wingspan:  14-18mm

Flight Period:  Bivoltine: July, September - October, and then in spring after hibernation

Observations:  Larvae feed mainly on Oak. Adults are variable and very difficult to separate from its congener, A. notana, and thus must be subject to genitalia dissection to be sure of identification.

Confusion Species:  A. notana
