Distribution/Abundance:  Common

Primary Habitat:  Gardens, Woodland, Hedgerows

Wingspan:  11-14mm

Flight Period:  July - August

Observations:  Larvae feed on a variety of deciduous trees and shrubs, including Hawthorn, Oak, Willows, Poplars and Hazel. Adults are a regular visitor to light traps.

Confusion Species:  G. aceriana, G. sociana, G. oppressana
