Distribution/Abundance:  Local

Primary Habitat:  Damp meadows, Damp woodland

Wingspan:  18-23mm

Flight Period:  May - June

Observations:  Larvae feed on the roots and stems of Marsh Thistle and Common Knapweed. Adults and very similar to those of E. scutulana and thus require to be subject to genitalia dissection to be sure of identification.
