Distribution/Abundance:  Local

Primary Habitat:  Woodland

Wingspan:  12-17mm

Flight Period:  June - August

Observations:  Larvae feed on various Larch spp, also Sitka Spruce, mining the needles and buds. The species was only recently split from its congener Bud Moth, S. ocellana, and thus care needed in separating the two.
