Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Grassland

Wingspan:  11-17mm

Flight Period:  May - July

Observations:  Larvae feed on a variety of foodplants including vetches (Vicia spp.), initially mining the stem or within spun leaves. Later instars feed within the developing seed pods. Larva over-winters full-grown. Adults fly on sunny afternoons over the foodplant.

Confusion Species:  G. orbana (but this species tends to have a more coastal distribution)
