Distribution/Abundance:  Common

Primary Habitat:  Gardens, Hedgerows, Orchards

Wingspan:  12-16mm

Flight Period:  June - August

Observations:  Larvae feed on Oak acorns and Sweet Chestnut. Adults fly on sunny days, but do also come to light.

Confusion Species:  C. fagiglandana

L.O.N.:  Common in many old orchards, and sometimes doing much damage
