Distribution/Abundance:  Common

Primary Habitat:  Grassland, Gardens

Wingspan:  21-26mm

Flight Period:  June - August

Observations:  Larvae feed on the stems of various grasses. Adults often disturbed during the day and come to light traps.

Confusion Species:  Several other of the Crambus genus bear similarities, especially in worn individuals, particularly C. silvella, C. uliginosellus, C. pratella, C hamella.
