Evergestis limbata

  B&F: 1356a

ABH: 63.059

Status:  Rare migrant/Possible resident

Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  General

Wingspan:  25-28mm

Flight Period:  July - August

Observations:  E. limbata was known only as a rare migrant to these shores until fairly recently. It is now known to be resident in some southern counties of the UK, including many records from Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, and some in Cambridgeshire. Interestingly, both VC32 records of this species have been taken in Helpston. Maybe evidence of a resident population...? The larvae feed on Brassicaceae, especially Garlic Mustard and Hedge Mustard.
