Primary Habitat:  Calcareous grassland

Wingspan:  23-27mm

Flight Period:  July - mid-August

Observations:  A species which is expanding its known range. Formerly known only from Kent, it can now be found sporadically in some adjoining counties (Bedfordshire, Hunts, Leicestershire). Larvae feed on the shoots and flower-heads of Wild Marjoram, Origanum vulgare, spinning the shoots together when full-grown in spring. Adults can be seen by day, being easily disturbed from the foodplant and seen flying before dusk. Adults attend light traps, but not in great numbers.
