Status:  Unknown

Distribution/Abundance:  Rare - no modern records

Primary Habitat:  Gardens, Food warehouses

Wingspan:  15-20mm

Flight Period:  June - October

Observations:  Larvae feed on stored materials such as Tobacco, Cacao and cereals.

Confusion Species:  Care must be taken to differentiate from other Ephestia species, particularly E. parasitella

L.O.N.:  Kettering, Ashton Wold. Not common, although I once saw a large number in a show case in a shop just outside the county
