  Kentish Glory Endromis versicolora

B&F: 1644

ABH: 67.001

Status: Former resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Very local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Localities and Last Record: Sywell Wood and Wakerley Wood. Last recorded 3 May 1919 Wakerley Wood (E. Wallis).

Observations: In addition to Wallis’s record above, the following note appears in the annual report of the Entomological Section of the Kettering and District Natural History Society for 1919. “The larvae of the Kentish Glory (E. versicolora) found by Mr T Mobbs at, the name of the place is suppressed.” I think that it is likely that this would also have been Wakerley Wood following Wallis’s discovery of the moth there.

L.O.N.: 1910. “Mr. Lomax of Mears Ashby has notified the capture of E. versicolora at Sywell Wood, in 1910, and I believe this is the first record of its appearance in the county.”

First Record: 1910, Lomax.
