  Scalloped Hook-tip Falcaria lacertinaria

B&F: 1645

ABH: 65.001

Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Fairly common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Double brooded from May to August.

Observations: The first county record of this moth was in 1934 at Wakerley Wood. As this locality was well worked in the early years of the twentieth century it is very unlikely that the moth would have been overlooked for so long if it was at all common there. The species has generally become much more established over the past fifty years and was recorded regularly during the 1990’s in the Fineshade Rothamsted light trap run within a mile of Wakerley Wood.

First Record: 1934, Burditt.
