B&F: 1659
ABH: 65.016
Status: Resident.
Distribution and
Abundance: Common.
Primary Habitat:
Woodland.
Flight Period: Single
brooded in March and April.
Observations: The moth
does not seem to stray too far from its larval foodplant
the birch and due to this habit and its early flight time
is under recorded. A single actinic light trap run
overnight on 19 March 1988 in a birch wood within
Geddington Chase attracted in excess of one hundred
examples of this moth. Prior to this, it had not been
seen there despite much light trapping and recording over
the years.
L.O.N.: Unrecorded.
First Record: 1882,
Hull & Tomalin.
