Observations: The moth
can be common where it occurs as on the afternoon of 29
March 1997 when twelve were seen at Grafton Park Wood
flying around the large aspens in the sunshine. In early
June 1988 the caterpillars were also common in this
locality between spun up aspen leaves low down on the
trees. The species is almost certainly under
recorded and is likely to be present anywhere that large
stands of aspen occur, especially in the north and middle
of the county.
