  Maiden's Blush Cyclophora punctaria

B&F: 1680

ABH: 70.036

Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rather local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Double brooded in May and June and again in August.

Localities: Hazelborough Forest, Yardley Chase, Boughton Park and Collyweston Great Wood.

Observations: After Wallis’s 1907 record at Geddington Chase there was a further record of the moth there in 1934. Despite much light trapping and searching in this locality during the 1980’s and early 1990’s the moth was not seen and it was considered no longer present in the wood. This remained the case until 1995 when moths of both broods were seen. It is now taken regularly at light at this site.

L.O.N.: 1907. Northampton, Weedon, Geddington Chase. Rather common.

First Record: 1863, Smith, W .
