  Dotted Border Wave Idaea sylvestraria

B&F: 1701

ABH: 70.010

Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rare.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Record: 10 August 1986 Castor Hanglands (J. Ward).

Observations: There are old records for this species between 1940 and 1960 at Castor Hanglands. The 1986 moth was in good condition and not worn despite occurring late in the flight period quoted in literature. As Derek Howton was present he double-checked the identification. There are also records of the moth occurring in Kettering between 1921 and 1948 but some of the flight dates do not tally.

First Record: 1919, Sharman.
