Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded from June to August.

Observations: The Fineshade Rothamsted light trap running in woodland in the 1990’s show an average annual catch of forty-eight moths for this species with an overall flight period of 29 June to 2 September. I have seen the form ab. fimbriolata occasionally in the county.

L.O.N.: 1907. Many localities. Very common.
