Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: : Single brooded from late June into August.

Observations: The Rothamsted light trap running in the damp woodland of Fineshade provides useful data on the variability of the flight period and abundance of this moth at light. The data for the seven years to 1999 is as follows:-
